About Us

The Asia Pacific Sepsis Alliance was formed in Bangkok, Thailand in October 2018. The APSA is collaborating closely with the Global Sepsis Alliance, an international non-profit charity organization.

Our Vision

Asia Pacific free of sepsis.

What We Do

Lobby for Change

The Asia Pacific Sepsis Alliance works with its members, regional governments, the World Health Organization, and engaged individuals to change how sepsis is prioritized, diagnosed, and treated within the Asian Pacific region, as laid out by the WHO Resolution on Sepsis.

Fostering Research on Sepsis

Understanding sepsis is vital in fighting it. The APSA fosters research into sepsis, especially on the true burden of sepsis in the Asian Pacific region.

Educate on Sepsis

Each year in the Asian Pacific region, more than x.x million individuals develop sepsis. x do not survive, and an additional one-third of survivors die during the following year. Many survivors face life- long consequences, such as new physical, mental, and cognitive problems. The APSA wants to educate everybody living in this region about all aspects of sepsis.

DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT An Asian Pacific SEPSIS STRATEGY

Bringing together all stakeholders, including patients and their families, with the aim to increase understanding that improvement of early recognition and appropriate management of sepsis must become the keystone of the infection management strategy in the Asian Pacific region.

Raise Awareness on Social Media

One key part to fighting sepsis is awareness. Studies show that only 6 % to 50 % have heard the term sepsis before, highly depending on the country. To raise awareness for sepsis, we bring relevant information about sepsis and the work of the APSA to you on Twitter directly.
